Update. see end of notice

Join us for the Newport Bus, Beer and Walk weekend. We’ve done this for the last couple of years and its great fun.

For the cost of a £5 programme you can travel Saturday and Sunday on the specified routes around the island on a vintage bus also included is a trip on the steam train

Bus stops are all outside a real ale pub who bring in speciality beers for the occasion or you could (as we will do) enjoy the walks hopping on and off the buses to suit and maybe a drink or two enroute.

See the web link for further information; programmes can be bought on the day or on line prior to the event.

We’ll be in Newport from Friday 13th to Monday 16th and once we have an idea of numbers we can organise an evening meal, with drinks aboard Ariana either before, after or both!!

If you are joining us, please phone or text, boat name and number of people.

Hope to see you, Ade & Pam

Update: We have 7 boats so far Penlu, Magus,Frith, Folly, Vol-et-vonte,Abcus, Altair & Ariana

Update 10th October

Hi All

Just an update for this weekend.

Pam & I will arrive Friday morning and leaving Monday morning..

For people arriving Saturday, unfortunately it is an early or late tide and again for people who are leaving Sunday it is an early or late tide.

I estimate lifting keel boats need 2.7 to 3.0 meters above chart datum to get in & out of Newport.

Could you possibly let us know what time to expect you to arrive.

If you want to get out and about on the veteran buses you can buy a Program for £5 at Newport where the buses run from.

On Saturday We are intending to go to Niton on the Black “J” route or Blue “K” route (every ½ hour) we can then walk to St Catherine’s Light house then back up to the Bugle inn at Niton for a swift pint. We hope to catch the 10.30 or 11.00am bus.

Sunday’s itinerary can be discussed Saturday evening over a pint

There are obviously plenty of other places to go, and feel free to do your own thing.

Saturday evening drinks aboard Ariana from around 18.30 and for those who want to join us we have booked a table at The man in the moon “Weatherspoon’s” for 19.30 (The Bargemen’s rest is fully booked)

If you are joining us at Weatherspoon’s please let us know so that we can confirm numbers.

Any questions or if you need any “local” advice on getting to Newport just give us a call

Hoping for favourable weather
