Evangeline - Parker Super Seal 26 no 97


Hull number 97, and the first Super Seal to be built by G W Parker and Sons, Evangeline has been owned by my wife and I for the last 14 years. She underwent a major refit in 2002 which included complete new rig, professional conversion from outboard to diesel inboard, new cushions and upholstery, and International Gelshield epoxy treatment below the waterline. In our ownership she has been subject to on-going improvements and has been maintained to a very high level.

With a good racing record at club level (and also in the Round The Island Race), Evangeline also has all the necessary cruising comforts, including good interior, 100 litre freshwater tank, pumped hot and cold water to the galley (hot via calorifier from engine), CD stereo, LED lighting throughout, proper heads etc. In 2013 the hull was professionally re-sprayed Marlin Blue, using Awlgrip 2 pack. The finish is stunning, as shown by the photos, all of which were taken in 2019.


  • Beta 13.5hp diesel engine (841 hours) driving 2 blade Gori folding prop.
  • Volvo deep sea stern tube seal (no drips).
  • 42 litre Vetus plastic fuel tank with electric fuel gauge.


  • Selden mast, boom, rod kicker and spinnaker pole. Standing rigging replaced 2013.
  • Single line reefing with all lines led back to cockpit through 8 spinlock clutches.
  • Main, jib and spinnaker halyards 8mm Dyneema.
  • 8mm Dyneema spinnaker sheets.
  • Harken mainsheet traveler.
  • Harken 32 primary winches, with 2 Lewmar 16 and 2 Barton 8 winches on the coach roof.


  • Sanders molded racing main and blade jib 2013. Lightly used and still excellent condition.
  • Osen racing No1 and No2 headsails. Tri-radial in Pentex. Very light use VGC
  • Cruising sails - Main, spare main, No1, No2, blade, working and storm jibs.
  • 3 Spinnakers of different sizes to suit conditions

Instrumentation and electronics

  • Garmin 152 GPS.
  • Full Nexus NX2 instrumentation with depth, speed, wind and compass.
  • 4 Multifunction displays (3 in cockpit and 1 in saloon) plus wind direction display.
  • Simrad TP22 Tiller pilot.
  • Nexus system fully integrated with GPS and tiller pilot. (Allows GPS info to appear on Nexus displays, and tiller pilot to steer to waypoint, or apparent wind)
  • Standard Horizon GX2200 DSC radio with AIS and remote cockpit mic


  • Plastimo twin burner cooker with grill.
  • 100 litre flexible fresh water tank new 2018.
  • Electric pumped hot and cold water to galley, with mixer tap.
  • 10 litre calorifier heated from engine (calorifier tank in cockpit locker).
  • Stereo CD radio.
  • LED lighting throughout (Nav and interior)


  • Spray hood in excellent condition. Removed and stored in forepeak when not actually required.
  • Two plastimo Mini Contest steering compasses mounted on cockpit bulkhead.
  • New fire extinguishers
  • 20Lb CQR with 10meters of 10mm chain and 40meters of multiplait warp.
  • Fenders and warps.
  • Collapsible winter storage cradle.

Evangeline has been very well cared for, and wanted for very little in our ownership. Everything works as it should and she is a fast boat with a good inventory. I regularly sail her on my own, and she is well set up for single or short handed sailing.
