Spring Bank Holiday and/or half-term cruise
Chichester and Bembridge
Sat 23rd - Mon 25th May 2009
Report and photos by Tim Reeder
We had a good rally to Chichester over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had eight boats turn up at Chichester and had a lovely
barbecue on the beach at East Head. Before this we held a Boules tournament which was won by Stephen and Julie Roy of Penlu,
The weather was brilliant and all went smoothly.
On Sunday morning we all set off at varying times and paces for Bembridge in generally excellent weather but not much wind.
We all squeezed onto the busy beach and then had an excellent meal and time at the Bembridge Sailing Club. The webmaster
turned up unexpectedly and managed to park up at the end of the beach.
We had a heavy squall in the early morning on Monday, but all calmed down by the time we left. We had a great sail in glorious
weather back to Hayling Island.
Thanks to the Vice Commodore Peter Lowry for organising and Phil Walden for taking over the hosting of a relaxing event.
